自己紹介

バックグラウンド　Background

出身は埼玉県で、小・中・高は地元の公立の学校に通っていました。

５歳からサッカーを始め高校で部活を引退するまではずっとサッカーばかりやってきました。そのため受験への不完全燃焼な感覚から浪人を決意し１年間の勉強の末、晴れて大学生になることができました。

I’m from Saitama Prefecture and went to local public schools for elementary, middle, and high school.

I started playing soccer when I was five and pretty much played non-stop until I retired from my high school club. Because of that, I didn’t feel like I had given my best in my entrance exams, so I decided to take a gap year to study. After a year of hard work, I finally made it to university!

大学生としての自分　As a University Student

現在大学では経済学部に所属し、特に開発経済学という分野を研究するゼミに所属しています。開発経済学とは、発展途上国の経済や成長戦略について分析する学問です。自分にとっては少し難しい内容もありますが、優秀な先輩や学友に恵まれ日々学びを深めています！ゼミでは毎年途上国にフィールドワークへ行く機会があり、論文やデータなどで客観的に世の中を俯瞰するだけでなく、「現場の視点」を持つことができることは、自分にとって非常に貴重な経験となっています。

また他にも大学入学後は様々なことに挑戦するように心掛けています。特に高校まではサッカーしかやっていなかったので、大学生の今しか出来ないことに積極的に挑戦し視野を広げたいという思いから、ここでのインターンシップに加えカフェや家庭教師のアルバイトもしています。どれも楽しみながら、自分を成長させてくれていると日々実感しています。

Right now, I’m studying in the Faculty of Economics, and I’m part of a seminar that focuses on Development Economics. This field analyzes the economies of developing countries and their growth strategies. Some of the topics are a bit tough for me, but I’m lucky to have amazing seniors and classmates who help me learn every day! Our seminar also gives us the opportunity to do fieldwork in developing countries each year. This hands-on experience, beyond just analyzing data and papers, has been incredibly valuable for me.

Since entering university, I’ve been trying to challenge myself in different ways. Back in high school, all I did was play soccer, so I wanted to take this chance to try things I wouldn’t have otherwise. That’s why, along with this internship, I also work part-time at a café and as a tutor. Each experience has been enjoyable and has helped me grow as a person.

インターンシップを始めたきっかけ　Motivation to start this internship

インターンシップを始めたきっかけは、グローバルな環境で働いてみたいと感じたからです。

母や祖母、叔母が皆英語の先生で留学経験もあったため、幼い頃から海外への漠然とした興味を持っていました。しかし部活などで忙しく気づいた時には一歩も日本からでることなく大学生になっていました。

このままでは本当に海外に行く機会がないと焦りを感じ、偶然見かけた大学のグローバルインターンシップに参加したのがグローバルな環境を求めるようになったきっかけでした。

自分の知らない未知の世界に飛び込んでいき、そこで価値観の全く異なる人とコミュニケーションを取ることは想像していた以上に刺激的で、自分の持っていた常識が覆る感覚は今でも忘れられません。

そして普段からそうした環境で働くことが出来たら面白いだろうなと感じグローバルな環境で仕事ができる4thWAVEでのインターンシップに応募しました。

I decided to start this internship because I wanted to work in a global environment. My mom, grandma, and aunt were all English teachers and had studied abroad, so I’ve always had a vague interest in other countries. But since I was so busy with soccer, I suddenly realized that I had never even stepped outside of Japan by the time I got to university.

That made me feel a sense of urgency, so when I came across my university’s Global Internship Program, I decided to join. Stepping into an unfamiliar world and communicating with people who had completely different values was even more eye-opening than I expected. The feeling of having my worldview turned upside down is something I’ll never forget.

That experience made me think, “How cool would it be to work in this kind of environment all the time?” That’s why I applied for an internship at 4thWAVE, where I can work in a truly global setting.

自分の興味・関心　My passion / interest

ここまでの話とは全然関係ないのですが僕は最近、コーヒーにハマっています。

大学生になる前は、コーヒーはただの眠気覚ましのドリンクとしか思っていなかったのですが、カフェでのアルバイトを始めてその奥深さを知りました。 今ではエスプレッソマシーンを家に導入するか検討するほど好きになりました。ここでのインターンシップを頑張って貯金をしたいのですが、実現は随分先になりそうです。

コーヒーは、産地や鮮度、ローストの仕方などで全く異なる味がするんです！

それはもう全く別の飲み物か、と思うほどです。

僕はその違いを実際に感じた時、コーヒーの世界から抜け出せなくなりました。

それ以来、たくさんの種類のコーヒーを飲むようになったのですが、そのコーヒー豆は日本ではなくすべてが海外から輸入されているものだと思うとなんだか不思議な気持ちになります。

私たちが当たり前に毎日飲んでいるもの、食べているもの、使っているものの多くが海外から海を越えて日本に運ばれてきたものあることを考えると、僕たちが思っている以上に世界は狭いものなのではないかと思われます。

例えばコーヒーを飲むときにコーヒー豆の農家をちょっと思い浮かべ感謝するだけで、世界とのつながりが感じられ、いつもとは違うコーヒーの魅力が知ることができる気がします。

 Recently, I’ve been really into coffee. Before university, I only thought of coffee as something to keep me awake. But after getting a part-time job at a café, I realized how deep the world of coffee really is. Now, I’m even thinking about getting an espresso machine for my home. I’d love to save up for it through this internship, but that’s probably going to take a while!

Coffee tastes completely different depending on where it’s from, how fresh it is, and how it’s roasted. It’s so different that it almost feels like a whole new drink every time. The moment I noticed these differences, I was hooked. Since then, I’ve been trying all kinds of coffee. It’s kind of crazy to think that every coffee bean I drink comes from overseas.

Thinking about how so many of the things we eat, drink, and use every day come from across the world makes me realize how small the world actually is. Even something as simple as picturing the farmers who grow the coffee beans and feeling grateful for them makes me appreciate coffee in a whole new way.

将来のビジョン　Future vision

将来は、世界で活躍できる人材になりたいです。

具体的な職はまだ決まっていませんが、日本だけにとどまらず世界全体を見ながら自分が主導したサービズやプロダクトで人々の生活をより良いものにしていけたら良いなと思っています。

そのためにも今できることを全力で頑張り、何よりも挑戦をし続ける人生にしたいと考えています。

In the future, I want to make a meaningful impact on the world. I haven’t decided on a specific career yet, but I want to work beyond Japan and create services or products that make a real difference in people’s lives worldwide.

To make that happen, I’ll keep giving my all to what I can do now and, more importantly, keep challenging myself every step of the way.
