菊地 佑太【海老で鯛を釣る 】

バックグラウンド / Background

　埼玉県川口市で生まれ育ち、幼少期はサッカーに夢中な日々を過ごしていました。中学に入り、それまでやっていたサッカーをやめ、ハンドボール部に所属し、高校卒業までの６年間はハンドボールに打ち込んでいました。大学では、部活やサークルには所属しなかったため、あまりスポーツをしなくなり、学業に励みながら、留学やインターンシップなど、初めてのことにチャレンジするようになりました。

     I was born and raised in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, and spent my childhood immersed in soccer. When I entered junior high school, I quit soccer and joined the handball club, where I devoted myself to handball for six years until I graduated from high school. In college, I didn’t join any clubs or circles, so I stopped playing sports as much and began to focus on my studies, while also taking on new challenges such as studying abroad and internships.

大学生としての自分 / As a University Student

　私は、大学に入って、社会学を学びながら、英語も習得したいと考え、英語で行われる授業を多く受けました。そこで何人かの留学生と友達になりました。彼らと話していると、文化の違いを知ることが多くあり、それによって日本についての理解も深まると感じます。その感覚がとても面白く、今後も色々なバックグラウンドを持つ人と関わりたいと思うようになりました。

     When I entered university, I wanted to learn sociology and also acquire English, so I took many classes taught in English. There, I became friends with several international students. Talking with them, I learned a lot about cultural differences, which deepened my understanding of Japan. I found this feeling very interesting and came to want to interact with people from various backgrounds in the future.

インターンシップを始めたきっかけ / Motivation to start this internship

　長期インターンシップを経験することで、将来のビジョンをより明確にしたいと思っていたところ、フォースウェーブの募集ページに出会い、「クルーズ」という未知の業界に興味を惹かれ、新しいことが経験できる機会だと考え、インターンシップを始めました。

     I wanted to clarify my future vision by experiencing a long-term internship, and when I came across ForceWave’s recruitment page, I was drawn to the unknown industry of “cruises” and started the internship, thinking it would be an opportunity to experience something new.

自分の興味・関心 / My passion and interest

　私は、「ソフトパワー」という概念に関心があります。「ソフトパワー」とは、「国家が、軍事力や経済力などのハードパワーによらず、文化や価値観などの魅力によって国際社会に影響を与える力」のことで、日本が持っているソフトパワーの現状とそのポテンシャルを明らかにしたいと考えています。

     I am interested in the concept of “soft power.” “Soft power” is the power of a country to influence the international community through its culture and values, rather than through hard power such as military or economic strength. I want to clarify the current state and potential of Japan’s soft power.

将来のビジョン / Future vision

　私は今後、日本の良いものを世界に広めることで、他国との繋がりを深め、平和に貢献できるような働き方をしたいと考えています！

     In the future, I want to work in a way that contributes to peace by deepening ties with other countries by spreading the good things about Japan to the world.
