自己紹介 

バックグラウンド　Background

幼少期に3年半ドイツで過ごした経験から、物事を世界の視点で考えるようになりました。最初は言語や文化が全く分からず、ただ皆と通じ合いたいという一心で新しい環境に飛び込みましたが、その思いが多様な文化的背景を理解するきっかけとなり、世界中に友人を作ることができました。日本に帰国後も高校卒業までインターナショナルスクールに通い、異なるバックグラウンドを持つ人々と共に過ごすことで、固定観念にとらわれることなく、常にオープンマインドでいることが自分の強みとなりました。将来的には日本にとどまらず、日本と世界を繋ぐ架け橋として活躍するためにも、今は積極的に様々なことに挑戦し、経験や知識の幅を広げられるような活動をしています。

Having spent three and a half years in Germany as a child, I began to think about things from a global perspective. At first, I did not understand the language or culture at all and jumped into a new environment with the sole intention of communicating with everyone, but this desire led me to understand diverse cultural backgrounds and allowed me to make friends from all over the world. After returning to Japan, I continued to attend international school until I graduated from high school, spending time with people from different backgrounds, which gave me the advantage of always keeping an open mind and not being bound by stereotypes. In order to be a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world in the future, I am now actively challenging myself in a variety of activities to broaden my experience and knowledge.

大学生としての自分　As a University Student

現在大学では、国際日本文化論プログラムという少人数制の英語プログラムに海外生として所属し、日本の文化・文学・メディアなど日本の様々な側面を世界の視点から英語で分析し、学びを深めています。特に日本人論に興味を持っており、いわゆる「日本人らしい」といわれている協調性や本音と建前の使い分けといったものがどこから来ているのか、またそれが近年の日本のメディア（映画・ドラマ等）にどう反映されているのかを研究テーマとして扱っています。

I am currently enrolled as an international student in the Global Studies in Japanese Cultures Program at university, a curriculum in English where I deepen my studies by analyzing various aspects of Japan, including culture, literature, and media, from a global perspective. I am particularly interested in the concept of Japaneseness, focusing on understanding the origins of traits often described as “typically Japanese,” such as the sense of harmony and the distinction between honne (true feelings) and tatemae (public facade).

インターンシップを始めたきっかけ　Motivation to start this internship

①自分が興味のある業界に携わりたかった

②大学では勉強してこなかった分野に触れ、新たなスキルを身に付けたいと思った

③自分の言語力を活かせると感じた

この3つの点が理由として挙げられます。①に関しては、元々家族でクルーズ旅行に行くことが多く、その魅力を知っていたため、どこかで発信したいと前から思っていました。それに加えて自分の持っている言語力を活かしながらも、マーケティングという新しい分野にも挑戦できるこのインターンシップはまさに私のためだと確信し、現在携わらせていただいています。

These three points can be cited as reasons for my decision. As for ①, my family and I enjoy going on cruise trips and had always wanted to share my experiences somewhere. Furthermore, I was convinced that this internship would allow me to make use of my language skills while also challenging myself in the new field of marketing, and hence motivated me to start this internship.

自分の興味・関心　My passion / interest

中高時代にミュージカルの舞台監督をやっていた経験から、ミュージカルにはもちろん、物事を陰から支える存在に魅力を感じるようになりました。舞台やテレビなど、すべての表舞台には裏で動いている人々がいるからこそ成り立つということ、その見えない努力に心を動かされました。そのため大学入学後はサークルで舞台の照明制作を続けながらも、レストランのホールスタッフや国際イベントの運営・通訳など様々な現場においての「舞台裏」で働き、刺激的な日々を送っています。

Having worked as a director/stage manager for musicals during my middle and high school years, I became fascinated not only by musicals but also by those who support things from behind the scenes. I was moved by the efforts of the people working behind the scenes and the fact that everything on the stage or on TV is only successful because there are people working behind them. Therefore, after entering university, while continuing to be involved in stage performances as stage lighting staff in my circle, I have also worked “behind the scenes” at other various sites, such as a restaurant hall staff, and international event manager/interpreter.

将来のビジョン　Future vision

「多様性を尊重する」という言葉は最近よく耳にしますが、実際にその意味を理解し、行動に移せている人はどのくらい存在するのでしょうか。ネットリテラシーの欠如による誹謗中傷や、終わりの見えない戦争が現在も続いているのは、多様性を尊重できていないからだと感じます。私自身もあくまで「理解しているつもり」であり、真の理解に至るにはまだ時間がかかると思います。しかし、この「多様性」が表面的な言葉にとどまらず、本当に人と人、国と国の理解に繋がるようにするため、私は日々さまざまな場所に足を運び、異なる人々と会い、学び、また別の場所でその学びをアウトプットするよう努めています。個人の行動が社会を大きく変えることは難しいかもしれませんが、一人ひとりが日々の行動や考え方を少しずつ変えることで、真の「多様性の尊重」が将来実現可能になると信じています。

We hear the phrase “embrace diversity” a lot these days, but how many of us truly understand what it means and put it into practice? I believe that the ongoing online slander, driven by a lack of media literacy, and the endless wars we witness, are the result of a lack of respect for diversity. I, too, “think I understand” this concept, and I recognize that it will take time to achieve a true understanding. However, in order to ensure that “diversity” is not just a superficial term but actually fosters understanding between people and countries, I make it a point to visit various places, meet and learn from different people, and try to share what I have learned with others. While it may be difficult for an individual’s actions to bring about significant societal change, I believe that true “embracing of diversity” can be achieved in the future if each of us makes small changes in our daily actions and mindset.
